Prevent SCR crystallisation to improve maintenance

Fleet managers and equipment operators risk costly, unplanned maintenance if their vehicles’ Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems (SCR) stop working properly. To ensure your vehicle runs flawlessly, TotalEnergies experts have created a ground-breaking additive-enhanced AdBlue® solution - ClearNOx®.

Using innovative technology, ClearNOx® expands TotalEnergies extensive AdBlue® range of products formulated to help all types of vehicles to work at their very best.

What is ClearNOx®?

ClearNOx® can help you reduce costs and save money on your on-road and off-road fleets.

A preventive additive-enhanced AdBlue® solution that goes beyond regular AdBlue®, stopping crystals from forming within SCR systems. If AdBlue® does not completely turn into ammonia, crystallisation may occur and cause blockages within the system, leading to expensive vehicle downtime.

ClearNOx® is the key to guaranteeing an optimal AdBlue® spray pattern and ensuring a complete reaction, even at low temperatures, to prevent blockages and crystallisation. The additive-enhanced AdBlue® solution will help you decrease unplanned vehicle and equipment breakdowns and improve fuel efficiency.

What is an AdBlue®?

AdBlue® is a solution formulated with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Made up of 67.5% of deionised water and 32.5% high-purity urea, AdBlue® is used to reduce the harmful gas and exhaust emissions your vehicle produces. AdBlue®, and ClearNOx®, work to reduce the Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions that can threaten human health and the environment.

The term AdBlue® is a worldwide trademark of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) relating to DEF produced in accordance with the ISO 22241 specifications.

Šta je ClearNOx®?

Formulated with AdBlue®, ClearNOx® works more effectively than AdBlue® alone. Using ClearNOx®, fleet managers can continuously keep the SCR system working as effectively as possible.

Why choose ClearNOx®?

ClearNOx® is TotalEnergies patented product that is suitable for both on-road and off-road vehicles and equipment fitted with SCR technology. The ready-to-use urea solution has been specially created for SCR after-treatment systems and is compatible with every type of vehicle, including heavy goods vehicles, van fleets, buses, and construction and agricultural equipment.

ClearNOx® prevents crystallisation

  • Maintains the SCR system and engine
  • Reduces the number of breakdowns and vehicles out of service in your fleet
  • Manages fuel consumption.

ClearNOx® replaces AdBlue®

  • Is ready to use - no need to drain the tank first
  • Ensures compliance with emissions levels in pollution
  • Controls standards.

ClearNOx® is a trusted, patented product

  • Developed by TotalEnergies researchers
  • An exclusive formula tested in collaboration with engine and vehicle manufacturers.

By using ClearNOx® and preventing crystallisation, your AdBlue® SCR system will work at full efficiency and will be protected against breakdown and replacement, which could potentially save you up to €3,000*.

How does ClearNOx® work?

As mentioned, ClearNOx® is an AdBlue® additive solution that is exclusively formulated by TotalEnergies engineers. In certain situations, exhaust gases are not hot enough to react properly with AdBlue® which means it does not completely turn into ammonia. This means that cyanuric acid crystals may form, which would bring a vehicle to standstill and contaminate your engine system.

TotalEnergies - ClearNox

ClearNOx® complies with the physical and chemical specifications in the ISO 22241 standard, but for optimal SCR system operation, it should always be used after the system has been cleaned at a certified auto repair centre.

ClearNOx® is the solution of choice to reduce your vehicle maintenance needs while helping minimize exhaust emissions. Find out more about AdBlue® or contact our experts for a personalised analysis.

*The cost of a replacement AdBlue® selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system (purchased and fitted) could be up to €3,000. This is an approximate potential figure as this does depend on a number of variables such as make / model and the type of business they operate within.
